Import of Pets
Documents required to import a pet to Qatar:
- Pet passport / vaccination history – including up-to-date vaccines (Rabies vaccination has to be less than one year old)
- Health certificate endorsed by the government vet in the country of origin, not more than 10 days prior to arrival
- Owner’s passport copy
NOTES:
There is no restriction on the number of pets that can be imported to Qatar by a single individual/private person. There are breeds, however, for which a special import permit must be obtained. The following dog breeds require at least 2 weeks notice and may be rejected:
- Boxer
- Bulldog
- Rottweiler
- Pug
- Great Dane
- Doberman
- Shar Pei
- Japanese Akita
Microchip is not required for pets coming to Qatar.
Export of Pets
Documents required to export a pet from Qatar:
- Pet passport / vaccination history – including up-to-date vaccines
- Health check-up followed by issued health certificate endorsed by the government vet, not more than 10 days prior to departure
- Owner’s passport copy
NOTES
There is no restriction on the number of pets that can be exported out of Qatar by a single individual/private person.
