Turkey Time!
With American Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up it’s time do discuss those special Turkey meals. In a country that serves carp for Christmas lunch, getting your bird might be a problem if not ordered well in advance from your local poultry merchant. However, both the Intercontinental and the Marriott Hotels are offering to deliver ready cooked turkeys to serve four to six people.
The Hotel Intercontinental offers turkey or goose for four to six people, with garnish (green beans, carrots, Brussels sprouts, castle potatoes, mashed potatoes, chestnut stuffing, brown sauce and fruit gravy), and includes a bottle of wine (white or red) as well as a pie (apple or pumpkin), for 26,500huf. Their offer is available between November 1st till December 31st with free delivery within Budapest.
The Marriott Hotel’s deal provides an entire spread of vegetables, stuffing, cranberry sauce and a bottle of wine for 20,900huf including VAT and delivery. They also offer roast duck for two to three people for 14,500 huf. Their offers are available between November 26th until December 26th.
Chef Simone and his team at the Four Seasons Gresham Palace have created a fabulous holiday season dinner for 6 people which includes; Roast Turkey with Herb Stuffing, Roasted Sweet Potato, Mashed Potato, Green Beans, Brussel Sprouts, Carrots, Cranberry Sauce and Gravy, Pumpkin Pie, Oven Heating Tray included for a total of 39,000 huf. Offer available until January 1st 2010.

Duck Luck Party
Feeding ducks for food dates back to ancient China, where this web-footed bird’s tender and succulent meat entered the global culinary tradition. To this day, the best ducks are said to come from Beijing in China and Rouen in France. From November 11 through December 23, we deliver free of charge* to your home a full meal for two, a whole 1.8 kg roasted Hungarian duck in its own sauce with apple, red cabbage and potato dumplings, for HUF 16,500.
Get your teeth into geese
Duck’s larger relative, this web-footed bird was already popular in ancient China, Egypt and India. The Romans especially appreciated geese: in the 4th century BC, geese gaggle signaled an imminent enemy Gaul attack. In the culinary tradition, the French gave the world delicacies such as foie gras and confit, and many European cultures serve goose for Christmas. The Kempinski Corvinus Kitchen’s goose is fair fare for four: a 3.6 kg goose roasted, in its own sauce with apple, red cabbage and potato dumplings, for HUF 28,500, which includes free delivery* to your home. This special is available between November 11 and December 23.
Turkey time
Thanksgiving dinner is turkey, the native bird of Northern and Central America – the Aztecs already enjoyed its white meat, which the Europeans took to as they conquered the Americas. Allow us to help you mark this truly family occasion for your nearest and dearest and leave the cooking to the Kempinski Corvinus Kitchen: between November 22 an 26, we deliver your turkey to your home free of charge*, prepared and ready to serve. Our turkey is whole, roasted and stuffed with bread, chestnut and sage, in its own sauce, cranberry jelly, sweet potato mash and buttered Brussels sprouts. A 6-7 kg turkey is recommended for six persons, for HUF 20,000, and a 9-10 kg turkey serves ten persons, for HUF 42,000.
*Delivery is free in districts I, V, VI, VII, IX and XIII. All other districts: HUF 5,000.
