Language groups
While none of the Language or Cultural Groups have standard meetings, they do hold events and can offer that much needed feeling of ‘home’ by being around other Native speakers. The following is a list of such institute.
-
Cervantes Institute. A haven for Spanish speakers, they promote the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world and have many events and lectures.
-
Czech Centre. In a picturesque location, this is a mecca for the Czechs in Budapest. Incredibly helpful and warm, they host many great cultural events for the Czech speaker.
-
Goethe Institute. A nice place for German speakers to come together for a coffee or to catch sponsored events. They also have a lovely library.
-
French Institute. An active group, the French Institute offers many cultural events, a popular bookstore, and a wonderful café.
-
Italian Institute. Excellent events and exposure to Italian news, arts, and culture.
-
Polish Institute. On Andrassy, the Polish Institute promotes the art and culture of Poland while uniting the native speakers.
