Kazakhstan: Immigration Bulletin –Work Permit Requirements changed
On March 13, 2013 the Government of Kazakhstan announced the adoption of Governmental Resolution # 44 from January 25, 2013 about changes in Rules # 45 “Rules of quote establishment for attracting foreign labor force to Republic of Kazakhstan, Rules and Conditions for issuance of permits to foreign workers for employment and to employers for attracting foreign labor force”.
The Resolution introduces few major changes in the Work Permit requirements which will come into force on March 23rd. The main consequence of the Resolution is cancellation of the following requirements:
- Medical insurance;
- Medical test;
- Criminal record certificate.
in the Work Permit process (based on the Kazakh employment as well as Intra Corporate Transfer).
It is not expected that the introduced changes will bring significant modifications to the Work Permit process itself but will certainly ease and shorten the immigration procedure for the applicants, who will no longer be required to provide the above listed documents in order to obtain Work Permits in Kazakhstan.
