Our professional packers are the best in the industry and while we take every precaution to care for your goods, there are many risks of loss or damage, which are beyond Move One’s control. It is unlikely that your homeowners insurance will sufficiently cover any possible damage to your goods or property during the removal process. For these reasons, you are strongly advised to take out appropriate insurance to protect you from the many risks to which your property will be exposed during removal, storage and transit.
Move One works with global insurance companies all backed by Lloyds of London, like Wells Fargo and AXA as well as local providers, to cover moving, storage and transit requirements. Everyone from your Surveyor to your Move Coordinator is well trained to understand your needs and offer a variety of coverage to fit any budget.
We offer the following options:
The total coverage amount is determined when you place a lump sum value on all your goods, based on the size of your shipment, to be insured. Each cubic meter (cbm) is given a fixed value. You do not need to complete a detailed value inventory list. There is no need to figure out the value of small or inexpensive items because each cubic meter is allocated the same value.
This option allows coverage for specific options. For proper coverage, you must list and declare a replacement value on all of the items that you wish to insure. Items may be grouped together, such as clothing and bedroom sets. In the event that a claim is filed for any of those sets, the settlement may reflect the average value of the declared items in that set.
The main difference is that with the “Item by Item” Valued Inventory option, you need to list each and every item that you are moving and need coverage for, and declare the replacement value amount of each item. Items not listed under this option are not covered. However, to fully insure your shipment, you need to list all items being shipped.
The Lump Sum Valuation option allows you to simply declare a lump sum amount, reflecting the total coverage you desire for your shipment.
If your goods will be stored for more than 90 days, you will need to extend your coverage.
In the event of an insurance claim, please notify your Move Coordinator in writing within 30 days of delivery.
