    Afghanistan: Five Years Later

    Five years after the Taliban returned to power, Afghanistan is quieter.
The Taliban have consolidated control, although ISIS-K and smaller resistance groups remain a threat. Russia is currently the only country to have formally recognized the Taliban government, while most of the international community continues to withhold formal recognition.
The economy has stabilized in some respects, but poverty, unemployment and humanitarian needs remain severe. Millions of Afghans have also returned from Iran and Pakistan, putting further pressure on an already fragile economy.
    Move One has been part of Afghanistanโ€™s story since 2001, maintaining a significant presence and delivering vital supplies and equipment through some of the countryโ€™s most difficult years.
The war has largely ended, but the hardship has not.
